What she also knows is that most of the women she meets—her friends, her colleagues, her sisters—want the same thing: a piece that holds its shape. Leather you can feel under your fingers. Mathilde's sister, Julie left the strategy consulting to join the adventure in 2020. She coordinates logistics, manages relationships with our workshops, and ensures that every order arrives on time, perfectly packaged. She also responds to your messages and remembers your name.

Trained in jewelry design in Lyon, Léa joined L'Atelier de Malte in 2021 to launch the jewelry line. She works directly with our Portuguese workshop and oversees every step from the sketch to the final quality control. Her criterion: if she wouldn’t wear it every day, it doesn’t go out.

Hugo manages the brand's visual universe—photoshoots, website, social media. A former freelance photographer for several fashion houses, he ensures that every image perfectly reflects who we are: beauty without showiness.

So Mathilde makes a choice.

She leaves her position, reconnects with three workshops she knows personally—two in Italy, one in Portugal—and designs her first collection: six bag models, no more. Full-grain leather. Careful lining. Simple hardware. And always a fair price.

The rule is set from the very first day:

We never cut corners on the material or the finish. We cut corners on everything else: no boutique on Avenue Montaigne, no €200,000 advertising campaign, no dormant stock. Each model is produced in a limited series. When it is Out Of Stock, it is Out Of Stock.

Since then, the brand has grown. Jewelry came naturally with the same demands, the same philosophy. But the spirit remains that of day one: a small team, a direct link with our workshops, and an obsession with the right detail.

Full-grain Italian leather, nickel-free gold-plated brass, genuine gold plating. We tell you exactly where each material comes from and why we chose it. No "vegan leather" that flakes off in three weeks, no gold that turns gray.

Limited editions, for real.

Each model is produced in limited quantities between 30 and 150 pieces depending on the references. We do not restart an Out Of Stock model just to boost sales. This rarity is not a marketing argument: it is the direct consequence of our artisanal production method.
